Numerous muscles, ligaments, nerves, arteries, and bones in the shoulders and upper back can hurt if you are hurt in a car accident. The most important region of the upper back is the spinal cord, which, if improperly handled, could have serious consequences.
A portion of the cervical spine may have been damaged in the car accident if shoulder and upper back pain has persisted. Scheduling an evaluation with our physician should be the patient’s top priority as soon as the discomfort starts.
These are a few of the most typical injuries that can happen in a car crash.
Our doctor will want to properly evaluate a patient’s health by looking over X-rays or other imaging and doing a physical examination if the patient has upper back or shoulder pain.
In the course of the examination, the physician will ascertain whether the patient is experiencing intermittent or continuous pain, what kind of pain is being experienced (such as burning, stabbing, etc.), what causes the pain, when the patient is most likely to experience pain during the day, and how much pain the patient is experiencing on a scale of 0 to 10. After determining the severity of the pain and its underlying cause, our doctor will suggest a successful treatment plan that includes physical therapy, acupuncture, and interventional pain management approaches.
Don’t let shoulder or upper back pain prevent you from participating in life! Schedule your appointment today.
